Make a bill calendar

Line up due dates with paydays and avoid late fees.

Takes about 30 minutes 4 min read

Late fees and overdrafts often happen because bills are due at the wrong time, not because there isn't enough money. A bill calendar fixes that.

Set it up

  1. List every bill with its amount and due date
  2. Mark your paydays
  3. Ask providers to move due dates so bills fall just after payday
  4. Use autopay for fixed bills you trust; pay variable bills manually after checking them

Keep checking

Autopay is convenient, but price increases slip through. Glance at every bill before it's paid.
